Team Canada sent packing by Slovakia in World Hockey Championship shocker

Edmonton - May. 17, 2012: After rebounding from a less then stellar start, Team Canada managed to blow their quarterfinal matchup against Slovakia, falling by a score of 4-3. An ill advised kneeing major to captain Ryan Getzlaf, late in the final frame, led directly to the game winner. The victory sends the underdog Slovaks to the semifinals and the favoured Canadians home from the 2012 World Hockey Championships empty handed. FULL STORY

Upsets and poor officiating reason for dull NHL playoffs, not blocked shots

Edmonton - May. 16, 2012: Many have attributed the lack of excitement and scoring chances in the NHL playoffs to teams willing to do anything to block shots. While that does play a part, it is a very small one at best. That being said, there are two glaring reasons as to why these playoffs have reached the point they have...first round upsets and poor on ice officiating. It's that simple. FULL STORY

The Canadian Nationals/358-Modified MrDIRTcar Series to start off 2012 at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall - May. 15, 2012: After a long wait, the 2012 season will finally start this Sunday, May 20 at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the first race of the Gaetan’s Chip Stand Canadian Nationals for the 358-Modifieds, this event will also have great importance as the MrDIRTcar 358-Modifieds Series will also begin his activities during this 100-lap event paying $4,000 to the winner. The Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series will also be part of this great night with a 40-lap feature as the Sportsman, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock will have a regular show on Minute Auto Wash night.

Cornwall - May. 15, 2012: We are pleased to announce to you officially that there will be a professional hockey team playing in Cornwall next season.
Keith leads Team Canada to top spot in Group H at World Championships
Edmonton - May. 15, 2012: Team Canada closed out their preliminary round scheudle with a 5-1 win over Belarus on Tuesday morning. Ryan O'Reilly led the scoring parade with a pair of goals and Duncan Keith picked up to more assists, making him Canada's top point man with eleven points. With t win Canada finished atop Group H with a 6-0-1 record but will have to wait and see who their quarterfinal opponent will be come Thursday.
Would Shea Weber or Ryan Johansen entice the Oilers enough to move first overall pick?
Edmonton - May. 14, 2012: The Edmonton Oilers are at the stage where they need to take a step forward in 2012-2013. With that being the case the question becomes, what will they do with the 1st overall pick? It's a tough call and one that could be made even harder if the likes of Nashville Predators defenceman Shea Weber or Columbus Blue Jackets centre Ryan Johansen were made available.

Edmonton - Apr. 25, 2012: To suggest that Chelsea pulled off one of the greatest upsets in Champions League history by dismissing Barcelona, would almost be considered an understatement. The Blues move on to their second final in five years, against the winner of the second semi final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
