Town seeks public input on Lighthouse Cove Community Plan
Residents in the Town of Lakeshore are invited to share their ideas to help develop a Community Plan to guide and inform future public investment and development for Lakeshore’s Lighthouse Cove community. The planning process will chart the future for Lighthouse Cove by undertaking a holistic review of environmental, servicing, and land use issues with the goal of establishing a long term framework for the overall sustainability and resiliency of the community.

Lakeshore - May 13, 2019 - Residents in the Town of Lakeshore are invited to share their ideas to help develop a Community Plan to guide and inform future public investment and development for Lakeshore’s Lighthouse Cove community. The planning process will chart the future for Lighthouse Cove by undertaking a holistic review of environmental, servicing, and land use issues with the goal of establishing a long term framework for the overall sustainability and resiliency of the community.

Located at the mouth of the Thames River, Lighthouse Cove is home to several businesses, the historical lighthouse, and unique amenities that create an interesting place to live and visit.

Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain stated “Council and I are very happy to have this opportunity to engage our citizens in the Lighthouse Cove project as well as other projects in the future. Council has heard resident requests for more input into Town projects and we are now able to provide it. We encourage everyone to sign up to PlaceSpeak so they can get notifications as we move forward.”

The Town of Lakeshore recently approved the use of PlaceSpeak, a location-based citizen engagement platform, for consulting with the public and stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Once a resident has signed up to PlaceSpeak, they will automatically be notified of new public consultations from the Town.

Residents can now participate in Lakeshore’s first community engagement at http://placespeak.com/LighthouseCove.
