Lancaster - Sep. 13, 2011 - Ontario has historically been the economic engine of Canada. Families from around the world came here because they knew there was no better place than Ontario to live, work and raise a family. But after eight years of Dalton McGuinty, we know it’s not like that anymore. Ontario has fallen behind.

Under Dalton McGuinty, Ontario has lost over 300,000 manufacturing jobs. Under Dalton McGuinty, Ontario’s unemployment rate has remained above the national average for 55 consecutive months - his entire second term in office and then some. Dalton McGuinty promised his election platform would focus on jobs, but what he should have specified is that none of those jobs are for you. Dalton McGuinty is now promising to spend your tax dollars on affirmative action for new comers to Ontario, offering companies $10,000 a pop if they choose to hire a new comer over Ontario residents. People in Ontario, need not apply.

Are you one of the half a million unemployed Ontario workers who still cannot find a job? Dalton McGuinty is telling you ‘Why not try Saskatchewan?’ Are you a recent post-secondary school grad finding it hard to enter the job market? Your competition just got that much harder, because the resume next to yours has a $10,000 cheque from Dalton McGuinty clipped to it.

Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC Party would take a completely different approach. We believe in creating a level playing field, not playing favourites. We believe in freeing the job creators to do what they do best by creating the right conditions for private sector growth and investment. That means competitive business taxes, cutting red tape and endless bureaucratic run-arounds and investing in affordable, reliable sources of energy.

On October 6th, Ontario families face a clear choice:

1) four more years of Dalton McGuinty raising your taxes, wasting your money and never standing up for Ontario families first - or

20 they can choose change with a Tim Hudak government that will give families relief, end Dalton McGuinty’s corporate welfare schemes, and create jobs without prejudice.

On October 6, 2011, vote Jim McDonell for a Tim Hudak Progressive Conservative government.
