Cornwall - Jun. 2, 2011 - Through the redevelopment project at the Cornwall Community Hospital, residents of Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry will continue to access quality care closer to home.
Ontario’s investment in this project will help the Cornwall Community Hospital to provide patients better access to services and will include a combination of new construction and renovations to consolidate all acute, mental health and rehabilitation services from two hospital sites to one site.
Redevelopment at the site includes expanded ambulatory care, mental health, critical care, maternal/child services, emergency department, surgical suite and support services.
Construction is now almost 50% complete.
Investing in front line health care is part of the province’s Open Ontario Plan to provide more access to health care services and improve quality and accountability for patients.
“Our government is working hard to ensure that patients have the care they need easily accessible to them,” said Jim Brownell, MPP for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry. “The investments that we are making in health care, at the Cornwall Community Hospital, will be of great benefit to all residents in our community.”
