Cornwall - Feb. 14, 2011 - A recent poll published by Nanos research, shows that Tim Hudak's Ontario Provincial Party is ahead in the polls.
Currently, Nanos Research has the Progressive Conservatives at 43%, followed by the Liberals at 39%, the NDP at 13% and Green Party at 5%. The PC's numerical lead is still within the margin of error for decided voters.
Hudak is comfortably ahead of McGuinty on the best Premier measure by nine points. In addition, compared to the opinions they expressed a year ago, Ontarians, in early 2011, seem to be much more likely (55.8% in 2011 versus 42.8% in 2010) to think McGuinty's government is moving in the wrong direction).
In the riding of Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry, Winchester businessman David Guy and South Glengarry Mayor Jim McDonell have announced their intentions to seek the PC Nomination. On the Liberal side, retired St. Lawrence College Director Pat Finucan and former City Councillor Mark MacDonald are hoping to win the nomination.
Ontarians go to the polls on Thursday October 6, 2011.
