Cornwall - May. 19, 2011 - Team Cornwall announced today that it will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday June 3rd at 7:30 am, at the new Benson. Their keynote speaker will be Cyril Leeder, the President of the Ottawa Senators.

Leeder will give a keynote address on leveraging sports and recreational amenities for success. Recently, Mr. Leeder was a key part of an effort to secure the Women’s Hockey World Championship for Ottawa in 2013, as well as the Ontario Women’s Provincial Championships.

“With the opening of the Benson Centre, Cornwall has taken a quantum leap forward towards being in a position to attract major tournaments - all of which will have a very positive impact on the City's economy,” says Gilles Latour, Chair of Team Cornwall. “Mr. Leeder will offer some unique insights on how the community can leverage our facilities to meet our economic and social goals.”

This meeting will serve as Team Cornwall's Annual General Meeting. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 am, and the meeting will run from 8:15am - 9:30am. As in past years, the Board of Directors (Team Captains) will be elected at the meeting. The meeting is open to all - regardless of Team Cornwall membership.

The Benson Centre is a $34 million multi-sport facility that opened in May 2011. It features three NHL-size ice rinks and a field house with indoor soccer pitch and tennis court.
