The team at OurHometown.ca is disappointed to see Kevin leave, yet at the same time are very happy to see him secure this new position. We have no doubt that he will do a great job and will be a huge asset to the City of Cornwall.

Cornwall - May. 24, 2011 - Kevin Lajoie has been appointed as the City of Cornwall’s new Public Information Co-ordinator effective May 24, 2011.

“We are delighted to welcome Kevin to this position,” said Mark Boileau, Manager of Economic Development. “We believe Kevin’s education and experience in the areas of journalism and communications are well-suited for this job.”

A native of Cornwall, Kevin graduated from Loyalist College in 2002 with a Print Journalism diploma before embarking on a journalism career with the Standard-Freeholder, where he covered a variety of subjects including Cornwall City Hall. In May 2010, Kevin joined Heart of the City to work as the co-ordinator of a new three-year revitalization project called Centretown Cornwall.

Lajoie had been a key contributor to OurHometown.ca since the site’s launch in early 2011. Given the nature of his new position, Kevin has stepped away from OurHometown.ca. You can read his final column by clicking HERE.
