Cornwall - May. 29, 2011 - The Ontario New Democratic Party riding association for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry has announced the date of its upcoming nomination. The local party will choose their candidate on Wednesday June 15th at he the Navy Veterans Association building.

To date, only Cornwall city councillor Elaine MacDonald has announced her intention to seek the NDP nomination. With such a short window between her announcement and the actual nomination date, it appears very likely that she will be acclaimed.

South Glengarry Mayor Jim McDonnell has already won the Progressive Conservative nomination. Former Cornwall city councillor Mark MacDonald, retired St. Lawrence College Director Pat Finucan and Parliament Hill staffer Denis Sabourin have announced their intention to seek the Liberal nomination. The Green Party has yet to announce their nomination plans.

Ontarians go to the polls on Thursday October 6, 2011.
