Jim McDonell is the newest columnist with OurHometown.ca
OurHometown.ca is pleased to announce that Jim McDonell will be joining our team of columnists. On April 8, 2011, McDonell won his party's nomination and is now the Ontario PC candidate for the riding of Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry.

Cornwall - May. 30, 2011 - OurHometown.ca is pleased to announce that Jim McDonell will be joining our team of columnists.

McDonell entered local politics as a Councillor in Charlottenburgh Township in 1994 and was re-elected in South Glengarry for two additional terms. In 2003, he was elected Mayor and has continued in this position to the present. In 2006, he was elected Warden of the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry.

On April 8, 2011, McDonell won his party's nomination and is now the Ontario PC candidate for the riding of Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry.

McDonell’s column will begin on our site in the coming days. Make a point to check back and see what Jim and the Ontario PC Party are offering to Ontarians.

Former Cornwall city councillor Mark MacDonald, retired St. Lawrence College Director Pat Finucan and Parliament Hill staffer Denis Sabourin have announced their intention to seek the Liberal nomination. Cornwall City Councillor Elaine MacDonald has announced her bid for the NDP nomination. The Green Party has yet to announce their nomination plans.

OurHometown.ca will offer space to each of the provincial candidates to write a column to discuss relevant Provincial issues. Ontarians go to the polls on Thursday October 6, 2011.
