Noble Villeneuve Golf Classic set for Saturday June 11, 2011

Cornwall - Jun. 10, 2011 - The Stormont Dundas and South Glengarry Ontario Progressive Conservatives hold the 8th Annual Noble Villeneuve Classic Golf tournament at Summerheights Golf Links Saturday, June 11, 2011.

Area golfers, including nominated PC candidate Jim McDonell, welcome Noble and Elaine Villeneuve and Nepean Carleton MPP Lisa MacLeod. The tournament is an annual fundraiser for the local Ontario PC Riding Association.

The tournament is named in honor of Noble Villeneuve, the former Ontario Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Francophone Affairs. To the right is a photo of Noble and Elaine Villeneuve as well as their five children.

MPP MacLeod will be the Guest Speaker at the dinner.

Former Cornwall city councillor Mark MacDonald, retired St. Lawrence College Director Pat Finucan and Parliament Hill staffer Denis Sabourin have announced their intention to seek the Liberal nomination which will be held on June 13th. Cornwall councillor Elaine MacDonald is the sole candidate thus far to seek the NDP nomination, whose meeting will be held June 15th. The Green Party has yet to announce their nomination plans.

Ontarians go to the polls on Thursday October 6, 2011.
