Cornwall Police Service: Official Media Release - June 20, 2011
The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Community Police Service: David Rafter, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of June, 2011, under the strength of an outstanding warrant. Ashley King, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of June, 2011, under the strength of an outstanding Conditional Sentence Order Warrant.

Cornwall - Jun. 20, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Community Police Service:

WARRANT
Cornwall, On - A 28 year-old Snye Quebec male was arrested on the 17th of June, 2011. He was bound by a Justice of the Peace Recognizance with the conditions of not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with a certain person, not to attend within 100 meters of their residence, place of residence, place of employment or anyplace that person may be at, not to be away from his residence between the hours of 11pm and 6am and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that the male had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on the 23th of February, 2010. On the 17th of June, 2011, police attended a disturbance where the male provided a false name. Further investigation revealed that the male was wanted and was breaching his Justice of the Peace Recognizance. The male was arrested under the strength of the warrant and charged with Obstruct Police and 4 counts of Breach of Justice of the Peace Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

Cornwall, ON - David Rafter, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of June, 2011, under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to attend court on the 7th of June, 2011 and a bench warrant was sought. He was released to appear in court on the 5th of July, 2011 to answer to the charges.

Ashley King, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of June, 2011, under the strength of an outstanding Conditional Sentence Order Warrant. Cornwall, ON - During the early morning of the 18th of June, 2011 she was located by police and arrested under the strength of the warrant. She was held in custody until court the following day.

BREACHES
Cornwall, ON - Larry David, 53 of Akwesasne ON was arrested on the 17th of June, 2011. He was bound by an Officer in Charge Undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry except for the purposes of retaining legal counsel or attending court and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 17th of June, 2011, while being a passenger in a motor vehicle, he entered Cornwall. He was detented by the Canadian Border Service Agency and turned over to the Cornwall Community Service Police. He was charged with 2 counts of Officer in Charge Undertaking and held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON - Jennifer Michaud, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of June, 2011. She was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition of Keep the Peace and be of good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 13th of June, 2011 she failed to appear for fingerprints and reasonable and probable grounds exist for her arrest. On the 18th of June, 2011 she was located and charged for failing to appear and breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on the 5th of July, 2011 to answer to the charges.

Cornwall, ON - John Paul Laffin, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of June, 2011. He was bound by a Justice of the Peace Undertaking with the relevant conditions to abide by a curfew from 12:00 am to 4:00 am. except while at a certain address or in transit to his own residence. He was also bound by an Officer in Charge Undertaking with the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 18th of June, 2011, shortly prior 3:00 a.m., a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service observed him driving a motor vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of Justice of the Peace Undertaking and 1 count of breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on the 5th of July, 2011 to answer to the charges.

Cornwall, ON - Natalie Larose, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 19th of June, 2011. She was bound by a Officer in Charge Undertaking with the relevant conditions not to associate with persons known to have a criminal record, not to associate with anyone known to you to use or deal in drugs and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She is also bound by a Probation Order the relevant conditions no contact with anyone with a criminal record especially with respect to drug charges and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 13th of June 2011, a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service observed her to be in the accompany of a person known to her to have a Criminal Record, and use or deal drugs. She was located and charged with 3 Counts of Breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking and 2 Counts of Breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on the 5th of July, 2011, to answer to the charges.

DRUGS
Cornwall, ON - Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service- Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Search Warrant at a Baldwin Avenue residence. As a results of the search , a quantity of Drugs, believed to be cocaine and marijuana was seized. The total value of the drugs and other offence related property is estimated at over $375.00.

As a result of the investigation:

Vincent Brunette, 22 of Cornwall was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Marihuana, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was held in custody until court the following day.

Jason Danis, 23 of Cornwall was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marihuana. He was also bound by a Probation Order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to consume, purchase or possess drugs. He was charged accordingly and held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON - Mark Woods, 43 of Alexandia was arrested on the 19th of June, 2011. He was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to abstain from the purchase, possession, consumption of drugs except in accordance with a medical prescription. It is alleged that on the 19th of June 2011, he was observed to be smoking a marijuana cigarette by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service. Subsequently upon his arrest, a bag containing what was believed to be marijuana was located on his person. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana and 2 counts of Breach of Probation. He was released to appear in court on the 16th of August to answer to the charges.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON - A 40 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 18th of June, 2011. It is alleged that on the early morning of the 18th of June, 2011, he entered into an altercation with his 36 year-old common-law wife when he assaulted her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON - A 34 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 19th of June, 2011. It is alleged that on the 19th of June, 2011, he attended his 28 year-old girlfriends residence and began to damage items in the rear shed. Police were contacted and investigation followed. Upon his arrest, the male resisted and pulled away. He was charged with Domestic Mischief and Resist Arrest. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.
