Fire and EMS crews respond to emergency call at StarTek
Crews from Cornwall SD & G EMS as well as the Cornwall Fire Department responded to a call for assistance at StarTek on Vincent Massey Drive shortly after 11 am this morning. The StarTek building at 1400 Vincent Massey Drive was evacuated as emergency responders investigated the source of an apparent gas leak.

Cornwall - Jun. 20, 2011 - Crews from Cornwall SD & G EMS as well as the Cornwall Fire Department responded to a call for assistance at StarTek on Vincent Massey Drive shortly after 11 am this morning.

The StarTek building at 1400 Vincent Massey Drive was evacuated as emergency responders investigated the source of an apparent gas leak. Firefighters canvassed the building with air monitoring equipment, however a source or cause wasn’t determined.

A total of 21 people have been transported to the Cornwall Community Hospital with minor to moderate symptoms of nausea and dizziness. Of those, 13 were transported to hospital by ambulance while another 8 were transported on a Cornwall Transit bus accompanied by paramedics and firefighters.

All affected employees from StarTek have been attended to by emergency responders.
