Message from His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge
Prior to arriving in Canada, Prince William issued the following statement: "Catherine and I are very much looking forward to our Tour of Canada. We hope to be able to meet as many people as possible and to see as much of the extraordinary and diverse country as we can", said The Duke of Cambridge.

Ottawa - Jul. 2, 2011 - Prior to arriving in Canada, Prince William issued the following statement:

"Catherine and I are very much looking forward to our Tour of Canada. We hope to be able to meet as many people as possible and to see as much of the extraordinary and diverse country as we can", said The Duke of Cambridge. "I have wonderful memories from my last times in Canada, and as such we consider it a great privilege to have been invited to Canada for our first joint Tour."

Yesterday, the Royal Couple spent the day in Ottawa enjoying the Canada Day ceremonies on Parliament Hill. The balance of their itinerary highlights:

  • Freedom of the City ceremony with the Royal 22e Régiment in Québec City, Quebec (July 3)

  • Search and rescue demonstration in Summerside, Prince Edward Island (July 4)

  • Event with Canadian Rangers in Blachford Lake, Northwest Territories (July 5)

  • Official launch of the Calgary Stampede Parade in Calgary, Alberta (July 8)
