Cornwall - Jul. 10, 2011 - The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provinicial Police have announced this morning that Highway 401 westbound is closed just east of Boundary Road in Cornwall.

Police are reporting a single vehicle roll-over accident with injuries. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.

SD&G OPP officers are currently on the scene of a collision that occurred on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

Early stages of the investigation have revealed that a male driver was west bound on Highway 401 when (for reasons under investigation) lost control and rolled the GMC van he was operating.

The driver and his two male passengers were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital McConnell site. One passenger was airlifted to the Ottawa Civil Hospital with life threatening injuries while the driver and second passenger were treated and released.

A portion of Highway 401 between Summerstown and Boundary road will be closed as SD&G OPP members assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue the investigation.
