Cornwall Police Service: Official Media Release - July 15, 2011
The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Community Police Service: Nancy Patricia Hutt, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on the 13th of July, 2011. She was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of good behaviour.

Cornwall - Jul. 15, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Community Police Service:

THEFT
Cornwall, ON - Nancy Patricia Hutt, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on the 13th of July, 2011. She was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of good behaviour. She was also bound by an Undertaking Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 13th of July, 2011 she attended a Brookdale Avenue Grocery Store and stole merchandise. A passerby attempted to stop the female however Nancy Hutt struck her. The passerby did not require medical attention at the time of the incident. She was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and Assault. She was held in custody until court the following day.

THEFT
Cornwall, ON -Jesse James Dufresne, 20, Renee Jeannine Senecal, 35, and Marie Roberta Appleton, 47, all of Cornwall were arrested on the 13th of July, 2011. Mr. Dufresne was bound by an Undertaking Order with the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that they attended a Vincent Massey store and stole merchandise. Police were contacted and an investigation commenced. They were charged with theft under $5000.00. Mr. Dufresne was also charged with one count of Breach of Undertaking. Further investigation revealed that Renee Senecal had in her possession a controlled substance. She was charged accordingly. They were released to appear in court on the 11th of August, 2011 on their respective charges.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, OVERCOMING RESISTANCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON - A 21 year old Cornwall man was arrested on the 14th of July, 2011. It is alleged that between October 2009 and December 2010, the male engaged in altercations with his 20 year-old girlfriend. During these altercations, it is alleged that he assaulted her, threatened her and sexually assaulted her. The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with four counts of Assault, three counts of Overcoming Resistance (choking), two counts of Sexual Assault, one count of Assault with a Weapon and one count of Threats to cause death. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the incident.

THEFT and BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, ON - Damian Micheal MacDermid, 23 of Moose Creek was arrested on 14th of July, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. He was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 14th of July, 2011, he attended a Water Street store and stole merchandise. He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was arrested and charged with one count of Theft Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation. He was held in custody until court the following day.

THREATS
Cornwall, ON - An 18 year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on the 14th of July, 2011. It is alleged that she engaged in an altercation with her 20 year-old ex-boyfriend when she threatened him. Police were contacted and an investigation commenced. She was charged with one count of Uttering threats to cause Bodily Harm. She was released to appear in court on the 9th of August, 2011 to answer to the charge. Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.
