Cornwall - Aug. 15, 2011 - On Wednesday September 14, the cast and crew of the /A\ Morning Show will be leaving their Byward Market studios and broadcasting live from Cornwall Ontario. The show will be live on the air from 6 am to 10 am.
“We’re excited to get out on the road and connect directly with our viewers,” said Kurt Stoodley, Co-Host of the /A\ Morning Show. “As the largest municipality in our viewing area (besides Ottawa/Gatineau), it makes sense for us to return to Cornwall.”
In July 2008, the /A\ Morning Show broadcast from Cornwall’s Lift-Off Festival, an event that helped showcase various events and organizations throughout the City.
The 2011 broadcast plans to follow the same format, with live on-air interviews with local community leaders and business owners. Morning Show producers are working with Team Cornwall and Cornwall Economic Development to organize the event.
“The broadcast offers a great opportunity for Team Cornwall members to showcase our community,” said Mayor Bob Kilger. “The /A\ Morning Show is the number one rated morning broadcast in the Ottawa area, and Kurt Stoodley and his team have become good friends to the City.”
The broadcast will take place from the St. Lawrence Power Development Visitor Centre located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in the west end of the City.
The broadcast will conclude immediately before the first tee-off of the Mayor and Council / Team Cornwall Charity Golf Tournament. It will prove to be a busy day for Team Cornwall Chair Gilles Latour, who has been instrumental in working with Morning Show producer Joanne Woo.
“It is certainly going to be a bit hectic as we welcome dozens of out-of-town guests to the golf tournament, but our Team is up to the challenge,” said Mr. Latour, Team Cornwall Chair. “Kurt will be golfing as well, so he will have to hurry to make the first tee after the camera lights go dark.”
More information will be released as details are finalized.
