Car crash on Highway 7 claims two lives
On Sunday (28 Aug) at approximately 5:15 p.m. a collision occurred on Highway #7 just west of Elm Tree Road between a pick-up truck and a car. The adult male driver of the pick-up truck was transported to Ross Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries. The adult female driver of the car and a female passenger were transported by air ambulance to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Kawartha Lakes - Aug. 29, 2011 - The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP are continuing to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway #7 just west of Elm Tree Road in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

On Sunday (28 Aug) at approximately 5:15 p.m. a collision occurred on Highway #7 just west of Elm Tree Road between a pick-up truck and a car. The adult male driver of the pick-up truck was transported to Ross Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries. The adult female driver of the car and a female passenger were transported by air ambulance to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two passengers in the car, both children, are deceased. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was pronounced dead at Ross Memorial Hospital.

Highway #7 is closed in both directions between Elm Tree Road and Opmar Road. The Highway is expected to remain closed for several more hours as the investigation continues.
