Busy Labour Day Weekend for area OPP
The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police: On 02 Sept 11, at approximately 9:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that a female and her 33yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(South Glengarry) - On 02 Sept 11, at approximately 9:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 33yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of: Assault, Breach of Probation Order, Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

He is scheduled to appear 20 Sept 11 in Cornwall court.

CHARGES LAID
(South Stormont) - As a result of a sexual assault investigation conducted by the SD&G OPP, a male resident of Cornwall On. was arrested on Saturday, 03 Sept 11.

The 43yr old male faces charges of: Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference with a person under 16yrs of age

The above charges are in relation to a sexual assault on a female.

The male is scheduled to appear 04 Oct 11 in Cornwall court.


(South Glengarry) - On 03 Sept 11, at approximately 8:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 23, South Glengarry Township.

The stop revealed that the 51yr old male driver (John Murdoch ROSS of South Glengarry) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of: Impaired Operation / Motor vehicle, Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 18 Sept 11 in Cornwall court.

TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS
(North Glengarry) - On 04 Sept 11, at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township.

The 52yr old male driver (from North Bay, On.) pulled to the shoulder then drove off when police approached his vehicle. The driver stopped a second time where he was arrested and found to have (small amount) of suspected marihuana in his possession.

He faces charges of: Flight from Police Officer, Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana, Possession Schedule II Cannabis Resin

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

BREACHED CONDITIONS
(North Glengarry) - On 02 Sept 11, at approximately 10:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a male breaching his release conditions on Derby St. Alexandria On.

The investigation revealed that a 21yr old male was breaching his release conditions by breaking his curfew.

He was arrested and faces charges of: Fail to Comply - Undertaking before Officer in Charge x2,

He is scheduled to appear 12 Oct 11 in Alexandria court.

STOLEN VEHICLE
(South Stormont) - On 02 Sept 11, at approximately 12:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on Mille Roches Road, Long Sault On.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 7:30am - 10:30am unknown suspect(s) attended a parking lot and removed a Blue 2007 Volvo.

The investigation is ongoing.

- 03Sept11, (8:00pm), SD&G OPP officer stop an eastbound Nissan on Highway 401, South Glengarry….157km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

- 03Sept11, (10:00pm), SD&G OPP officer stops an eastbound Honda on Highway 401, South Stormont….164km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

- 05Sept11, (10:30pm), SD&G OPP officer stops a westbound Buick on Highway 401, South Dundas….153km/h (posted 100km/h zone).
