Highlights of the October 11th Cornwall City Council Meeting
Cornwall City Council authorized funds to repair a part of the Cornwall Public Library's roof for the cost of $130,000. Fixing the aging roof now will prevent further damages. In a split decision the City will not contribute $258,580 to the Eastern Ontario Regional Network.

Cornwall - Oct. 13, 2011 - City Council authorized funds to repair a part of the Cornwall Public Library's roof for the cost of $130,000. Fixing the aging roof now will prevent further damages.

  • In a split decision the City will not contribute $258,580 to the Eastern Ontario Regional Network. The upgrades to the EORN will continue regardless of a City contribution to the project. The establishment of a PoP in Cornwall will make the City more attractive as a business location.

  • Council did not make a decision yet on the Peace Corridors of the Americas proposal to have statues in Lamoureux Park. The City's Budget Steering Committee will investigate the cost further in the 2012 budget.

  • Council proclaimed the week of October 16th to 22nd, 2011, as "Local Government Week" in the City of Cornwall. Council also proclaimed October 17th, 2011, as "Cornwall's Day for the Eradication of Poverty".
