Cornwall - Nov. 2, 2011 - Have you ever wondered what happened in the aftermath of the D-Day invasion? Award-winning author and military historian, Mark Zuehlke, brings the seldom told story of Canada’s pivotal role throughout the climactic July and August month of the Normandy Campaign in his new book, Breakout from Juno: First Canadian Army and the Normandy Campaign.

Hear how Canada and the rest of the Allies closed the gas at Falaise on August 21, 1944, destroying what had been a 400,000-strong German army, leaving only a fraction to escape.

Join Zuehlke for the launch of this new book on November 19th, 2011 from 1:30 to 4:30. The event will be held at the Cornwall Armoury on 505 Fourth Street East in Cornwall. This event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
