Winchester - November 17, 2011 - Come join us November 18th from 7 to 9:30 pm for Dessertfest / Stone carving auction 2011 in Winchester Ontario.

This second annual event features desserts created by local residents which are donated to Dessertfest as a fundraiser for the Winchester Downtown Revitalization Committee.

Over 50 residents have put their name on a list to donate their specialty creations. There will be wide assortment of tasty treats ranging from pies, chocolates, cakes, donuts and other specialty treats to tempt the sweet tooth in everyone!

Local musician Al Lummis along with a jazz band will be providing background music while local auctioneer Hugh Fawcett will be auctioning stone carvings and other donated items from local businesses in Winchester. These carvings were pieces that were started back in August at this year’s "Canadian Stone Carving Festival."

All proceeds raised at this year’s event will be put towards the completion of the "Sweet Corner Park" in the downtown core of Winchester. Entry into this event is $20 which gives each entrant a free drink at the age of majority event. Winchester is located a short 35 minutes south of Ottawa. The venue for the event will be upstairs at the Winchester arena. A limited number of tickets are printed and can be obtained at Winchester’s local merchants or call 613-913-9670 to obtain advance tickets.
