Cornwall - December 11, 2011 - Heather Hughes is dedicated to helping people achieve a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

It's a journey she knows first-hand.

A car accident in her early twenties left Ms.Hughes with serious injuries. After two surgeries, the Williamstown native emerged mobile, but suffering from chronic pain.

It was during her rehabilitation period that Ms. Hughes' long road back to wellness began. She gradually embraced running, regular exercise and a return to a nourishing diet. The result was more energy, an end to the chronic pain and a newfound passion for health and wellness.

For the past 14 years, Ms. Hughes has drawn upon her global approach to health and her personal experience to help others, and she is taking it to a whole new level with the opening of RENEW Lifestyle Studio.

Located at 424-E Fourth Street West in Cornwall, RENEW offers a range of fitness, dance, nutrition and detox classes as well as yoga classes and registered massage therapy.

The studio offers a unique and inviting environment where people can discover their best self.

"Our goal is to empower our clients to feel great about how they look," said Ms. Hughes, who is a registered massage therapist, a certified advanced Bowen therapist, a personal trainer, a CrossFit coach and a holistic lifestyle coach. "Your well-being is centered around healthy lifestyle choices, attaining balance and exuding happiness."

Ms. Hughes lives by the same advice that she shares with her clients, namely to strive for balance and stop pursuing unrealistic notions of perfection.

“Beauty comes from within. When you feel good about yourself, and you listen to your body, you look great,” said Ms. Hughes.

One of the studio's most popular offerings is its Women's Fit Camp. This energizing class is designed to help women of all ages feel lean, strong and fit through functional and body weight exercise, kettle bells and metabolic conditioning.

The studio offers dance-oriented classes unique to Cornwall with burlesque and NIA instruction.

RENEW also offers a growing selection of products from other area businesses such as Ground Soap and grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic-free meats from Langview Farms.

“Heather has spent the last 14 years building up a sizeable client base in Cornwall and S. D. & G.," said Candy Pollard, Business Consultant with the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre. “She has worked hard at building her networks in the medical and alternative therapy sectors and she knows how to deliver a quality service that people want. We wish her the very best in her new venture.”
