Old Age Security Act and Canada Pension Plan Scams

Mar. 18, 2015: One of my Caucus colleagues started a recent blog post wisely using the famous Winston Churchill quote: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on”. Every few weeks, my office receives emails and phone calls from constituents who have heard about “Bill C-428”, a Liberal Private Members Bill to amend the Old Age Security Act to reduce the residency requirement and allow newcomers to receive OAS after just 3 years in Canada. Summer Recess as the Member of Parliament for SDSG

Aug. 12, 2013: Parliament rose for the summer break at the end of June and the so called "barbecue season" began. I am still not sure what is meant by this term but, I can tell you I have been out and about since the beginning of July and the only BBQ I attended was our own SDSG Constituency Picnic.
