Busy month for Agape Centre – Chili Run on June 18th, AGM on 21st
The Agape Centre is "Local People helping Local People”, whose mission is to reduce the impact of poverty in our community. The organization does this by providing food, clothing, and household items for people in need, primarily, through their soup kitchen, food bank and thrift shop. The month of June will be a busy month for special events organized by the Agape Centre.

Cornwall - Jun. 7, 2011 - The Agape Centre is "Local People helping Local People”, whose mission is to reduce the impact of poverty in our community. The organization does this by providing food, clothing, and household items for people in need, primarily, through their soup kitchen, food bank and thrift shop. The month of June will be a busy month for special events organized by the Agape Centre.

On Saturday June 18th, the Agape Centre and Cornwall Farmer’s Market are proud to present the 2011 Chili Run, in Downtown Cornwall. The 5k Run/Walk will take place at 10:00 A.M. and will commence at the Clock Tower at the south end of Pitt Street on Water Street.

Following the Run/Walk they will hold a Chili Cook-off that will commence at 11:30 A.M. in the Farmer’s Market in George Assaly Lane off of Pitt Street between 2nd and 3rd street.

The Early registration fee is only $25.00 and registration after June 15th is $35.00. Registration forms can be found HERE.

Then on Tuesday, June 21st at 7:00 am the Agape Centre is hosting their Annual General Meeting.

They will start the morning with a tour of our facility, followed by our AGM. Beverages and muffins will be available. After our AGM, visitors are encouraged to stay for a presentation of the Play “In My Shoes” brought to Cornwall by a troupe of poverty activists from Sault Ste Marie.
