Sixth annual Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon set for May 4th at Cornwall Square
Corus Radio Cornwall, together with The Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation, announced today that the sixth annual Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon will be broadcasted live from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 4, 2012 at Cornwall Square (1 Water Street East).

Cornwall - April 2, 2012 - Corus Radio Cornwall, together with The Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation, announced today that the sixth annual Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon will be broadcasted live from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 4, 2012 at Cornwall Square (1 Water Street East).

Throughout the broadcast, Variety 104.5 and 101.9 CJSS-FM will feature interviews and testimonials from citizens, businesses, hospital staff and special guests. Listeners are encouraged to call in to make a pledge as well as donate online at TheCornwallDaily.com. Funds raised will go towards the “To Your Health” Campaign and assist in bringing an MRI and Digital Urology Table to the facility.

“Corus Radio Cornwall is proud to support the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation for the sixth consecutive year,” said JJ Johnston, General Manager, Corus Radio, Ontario East. “The health of Cornwall citizens is important and by giving generously to the Foundation, we can get the right tools in the hands of our health care professionals."

“Bringing an MRI and Digital Urology Table to our region is a huge step in equipping the Diagnostic Centre of Excellence at Cornwall Community Hospital,” added Jim Brownell, Honorary Chair, Cornwall Hospital Foundation. “This urgently needed technology will result in enhanced medical outcomes and healthier lives for everyone in our region.”

With more than 1,000 employees, the Cornwall Community Hospital serves acute, in-patient, out-patient and community based clients. Cornwall Community Hospital serves over 50,000 patients a year in the Emergency Department alone. Throughout the past five years, area residents have pledged over $615,000 to the Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon for the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation.
