Mayor Bob Kilger will speak at Rock the Vote
Here are the latest Rock the Vote updates! Cornwall's Mayor Bob Kilger has been announced as a guest speaker at Cornwall's 2012 Rock the Vote. The event is scheduled to take place Saturday June 16th at the The Church on Sydney, located at 130 Sydney Street in beautiful downtown Cornwall.

Cornwall - May 11, 2012 - Here are the latest Rock the Vote updates! Cornwall's Mayor Bob Kilger has been announced as a guest speaker at Cornwall's 2012 Rock the Vote. The event is scheduled to take place Saturday June 16th at the The Church on Sydney, located at 130 Sydney Street in beautiful downtown Cornwall.

Bob Kilger is serving his second term as Mayor of Cornwall Ontario. Prior to that he served in this riding as Member of Parliament for sixteen years, working under the Jean Chretien and Paul Martin governments. Prior to politics Kilger was a business man, a coach of the championship Cornwall Royals, and an NHL referee. “I'm delighted to have the Mayor guest speaking”, says event organizer Jason Setnyk.

In addition to Cornwall Mayor Bob Kilger, Ontario's youngest Mayor Eric Duncan, as well as City Councillors Elaine MacDonald, Bernadette Clement, and Andre Rivette are scheduled to speak. MPP Jim McDonell is the keynote guest speaker. Former NDP candidate Mario Leclerc and Chairman of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit Todd Lalonde have also been added to the bill.

Elly May has dropped off the bill due to a schedule conflict, however Dan Martin has been added to the line-up, and there will also be a drum circle lead by Jody Marsolais. Dan Martin and Jody Marsolais will be joining a line-up that includes Graham Greer, Sean Harley of Trench Town Oddites, Rodney Rivette, Sara Murphy, and Switchgear.

In addition to the live music and guest speakers, there will also be an art show and an author's corner. Recently added to the art show are Executive Director of the Cornwall Regional Art Gallery Sylvie Lizotte, and visual artist and Culture Committee member Vincent C. Pilon.
