Highway 401 closed due to fatal collision
Napanee OPP and Emergency Crews are still at the scene of the serious crash that caused two tractor trailer units to engulf in flames at Shannonville Rd, (Mile marker 566) on Hwy 401. The smoke was very thick causing poor vision for all motorists on the Hwy. Both East and West lanes are still closed.

Napanee - May 15, 2012 - Napanee OPP and Emergency Crews are still at the scene of the serious crash that caused two tractor trailer units to engulf in flames at Shannonville Rd, (Mile marker 566) on Hwy 401. The smoke was very thick causing poor vision for all motorists on the Hwy. Both East and West lanes are still closed.

The update on the closure is as follows:

401 East bound lanes are closed between Deseronto Rd and Hwy 37 401 West bound lanes are now closed between Marysville Rd (Hwy 49) and Shannonville rd.

Both drivers have sustained fatal injuries.

The Hwy is expected to remain closed until 2:00 am on May 16th 2012.
