Chamber’s BizFest Captures CBC’s Dianne Buckner
The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce today announced that seasoned CBC reporter, Dianne Buckner will headline BizFest 2012 as a celebrity guest speaker.

Cornwall - August 21, 2012 - The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce today announced that seasoned CBC reporter, Dianne Buckner will headline BizFest 2012 as a celebrity guest speaker.

A recognized Canadian television journalist with the CBC, Buckner is best known as the host of a number of business-oriented programs including Venture and more recently, Dragons Den. She has also anchored the CBC news, Sunday Midday and As It Happens. Prior to joining the CBC, she was a reporter for Canada AM and the CTV National News.

Buckner is currently host and executive-producer of a new business show for CBC News Network called Fortune Hunters. Fortune Hunters looks at new and emerging trends in business and marketing and how Canadian entrepreneurs are capitalizing on them.

BizFest this year will culminate with a re-creation of the hugely successful economic summit held some 18 years ago. A significant event that brought together more than 100 delegates, Summit ‘96 saw the creation of Image Enhancement, Air Quality Improvement, and Cornwall’s internationally recognized ambassadorial group, Team Cornwall.

In addition to Summit ‘12, this year’s BizFest will once again bring together business and community professionals for three days of must-attend workshops, dynamic keynote speakers and the ever present time to share ideas and challenges.

“We heard from so many of last year’s participants saying how Bizfest inspired them and shifted their mindset,” reports Chamber Director and Bizfest Chair Joey Gault. “We're looking to build on that momentum and deliver another exciting event for the business community.”

This year’s event runs from October 16 - 18 at multiple venues throughout the City. For details on the event, contact the Chamber office.
