Toronto - November 6, 2012 - Canada’s prodigal sons Hollerado have just announced details for their 2nd full-length album. Titled White Paint, the album is scheduled for release in February 2013 on the band’s own label, Royal Mountain Records, and is the highly anticipated follow-up to the band’s 2010 critically acclaimed debut. Lead single “Pick Me Up” hits radio November 19, 2012.
Originally hailing from Ottawa, Hollerado burst onto the world stage in 2010 with their debut Record In A Bag. The LP introduced music fans to Hollerado's irresistible guitar-pop and earned them a 2011 JUNO nomination for “Best New Artist”. Their savvy DIY approach, along with their incredible talent and tenacity, saw the band gain international attention in short order. Hollerado’s penchant for making super creative and share-worthy music videos like uber-viral Americanarama, which is over 1 Million YouTube views, helped solidify the bands’ popularity. Tours in China and Brazil, and shows with Flaming Lips, Weezer and Jack White's The Dead Weather soon followed.
Two and half years later, White Paint emerges as a statement from a band who’s evolved in part from the love its earned performing more than 1000 shows around the world. With Gus Van Go (The Stills, Priestess, Rah Rah) at the production helm once again, White Paint is an impressively mature effort for a band that once likened its shows to “elementary school recess with beer”. The 11 tracks stand out as a reflection of the sheer volume of life experience of members Menno Versteeg, Dean Baxter and brothers Nixon and Jake Boyd since forming in 2007.
Fans can catch the band on tour throughout North America this fall and winter including a US tour with Passion Pit and a special holiday show in Toronto with Tokyo Police Club. More details, including album art and release date, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
