Toronto Maple Leafs send Jake Gardiner to minors
Dave Nonis, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the hockey club has assigned defenceman Jake Gardiner to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Toronto - January 25, 2013 - Dave Nonis, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the hockey club has assigned defenceman Jake Gardiner to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Gardiner, 22, appeared in two games for the Maple Leafs this season, registering four shots on goal. The 6-2, 184-pound defenceman missed the Leafs first-two games of the season due to injury. Gardiner has registered 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) with six penalty minutes in 22 games for the Marlies in 2012-13.
