Reports suggest that Alfredsson will join the Detroit Red Wings
It appears that the unthinkable has happened. TSN is reporting that Daniel Alfredsson will not re-sign with the Ottawa Senators and instead will join the Detroit Red Wings. According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the long-time Ottawa captain made the Senators aware of his decision on Thursday night.

Stoney Point - July 5, 2013 - It appears that the unthinkable has happened. TSN is reporting that Daniel Alfredsson will not re-sign with the Ottawa Senators and instead will join the Detroit Red Wings.

"According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the long-time Ottawa captain made the Senators aware of his decision on Thursday night while TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie says the expectation is that he'll sign with the Detroit Red Wings," reports TSN.

Alfredsson was drafted in 1994 by the Ottawa Senators and has played his entire career in Canada's Capital.
