Mar. 28, 2015: I saw an interesting tweet on Twitter this morning from @goalieways. “St. John's IceCaps' Ryan Olsen after a fight in the first and a puck to the face in the second…and he's still smiling!” FULL STORY

In a classy move, Maple Leafs sign Garrett Gamble

Mar. 28, 2015: In what has been a season of not so flattering headlines for the Toronto Maple Leafs, there is some pretty neat news coming out of the provincial capital today. David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Saturday that the hockey club has signed Garrett Gamble to a one-day contract. FULL STORY

Bag of Pucks - Plenty of races to watch!

Mar. 23, 2015: The National Hockey League is now in the home stretch heading towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs. While fans in Edmonton and Toronto, have little to cheer about these days - there is still very meaningful hockey being played in a number of Canadian cities. The Montreal Canadiens under the stellar play of Carey Price have a good shot to be the top seeded team in the Eastern Conference. Andrew Hammond and the Ottawa Senators have been the Cinderella story of the league with a great push for a playoff spot. It is hard not to want to see them make it in. FULL STORY

Sharks dismantle Leafs, how about Thornton in Toronto?

Mar. 20, 2015: The San Jose Sharks are trying hard to secure a spot in this spring’s NHL Playoffs. For the Toronto Maple Leafs, the end of this miserable season can’t come quick enough. The two teams met last night at the Air Canada Centre and the Sharks skated to a 4-1 win over the Buds. Joe Thornton would be a good acquisition for the Maple Leafs. FULL STORY

If the NHL Playoffs started today...

Mar. 14, 2015: If the 2014-15 NHL Playoffs started today, there would be some pretty interesting match-ups. Five of the six Original Six teams would have a ticket to the dance - while Leafs Nation will be focused on the lottery. The playoffs will also see three Canadian teams competing for Lord Stanley's cup. The Nashville Predators have had a great season under Head Coach Peter Laviolette. Their reward is drawing the Chicago Blackhawks in round one. Over in the East, the Montreal Canadiens would draw original six rivals the Boston Bruins. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs spanked again on a Saturday night

Mar. 8, 2015: Once again, the Toronto Maple Leafs were spanked on a Saturday night CBC game. This time, it was six different St. Louis Blues players who scored to pace the Blues to a 6-1 victory over the Maple Leafs at the ACC. Last week, the Leafs lost 4-0 to the Canadiens in Montreal. In their last two Saturday games, the Leafs have been outscored 10-1. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs shutout for 7th time this season

Mar. 1, 2015: Carey Price continued his strong play for the Montreal Canadiens, as he and his team shutout the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. It was the seventh time this season that the Maple Leafs were shutout. Toronto’s road trip continues this evening as they travel to Washington to take on the Capitals in the weekly Hometown Hockey game. It is unclear how many players on the current roster will continue on with the team to south Florida as the NHL Trade deadline is Monday March 2nd at 3:00 pm. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs deliver uninspired effort in loss to Panthers

Feb. 17, 2015: Two weeks from tonight the NHL Trade Deadline will have come and gone. While the Toronto Maple Leafs may look very different on March 2nd, it was the same old, same old team tonight. The Leafs delivered yet another uninspired effort (except for the last 90 seconds) in a 3-2 loss against the Florida Panthers at the Air Canada Centre. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs Trade Watch: Kessel to Florida?

Feb. 16, 2015: TSN is reporting today that the Florida Panthers have interest in acquiring Phil Kessel from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The story says that “Florida Sun-Sentinal beat writer Harvey Fialkov tweeted Monday that the Panthers are not willing to part with a young stud to get him.” FULL STORY
