Are wins and losses the best way to gauge the success of the team this year? I tell you how you should approach this years Leafs' team and what they've done well thus far. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs lose in opener despite playing 'the right way'

Oct. 8, 2015: As the NHL regular season kicked off at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, the Leafs and Canadiens went head to head. For the first time in half a decade the Leafs wouldn't have superstar Phil Kessel on the team to try and help score on Hab's net minder Carey Price. With that task left to the likes of Nazem Kadri, James van Riemsdyk and Joffrey Lupul, the Leafs struggled in their first game of the season. Dion Phaneuf, Morgan Rielly and Jake Gardiner all impressed on the blue line, however Jonathan Bernier left some large question marks in net. The Toronto Maple Leafs have a long season in front of them with lots of questions that need answering. FULL STORY

Toronto Maple Leafs 2015-16 Season Preview

Oct. 7, 2015: Wednesday night see's the NHL 2015/16 season officially begin as the Leafs take on the Habs. After a disastrous year last season the Leafs have entered a full rebuild. They hired Mike Babcock as head coach of the Leafs and Sheldon Keefe as the head coach of the Marlies. They traded away superstar Phil Kessel among others and hired storied executive Lou Lamoriello as General Manager. On top of that they have overhauled the entire roster and built a deep roster of prospects. There's a lot of change within the Maple Leafs and I break all of it down. FULL STORY

Moving on from Phil Kessel; the Future of the Toronto Maple Leafs

Jul. 2, 2015: In the last week the Toronto Maple Leafs' rebuild officially began. The Leafs drafted Mitch Marner, & signed a few depth free agents. However the most important aspect to the rebuild is the fact that they traded Phil Kessel to Pittsburgh. Do Dion Phaneuf, Tyler Bozak and Joffrey Lupul all face similar fates? Phil Kessel's trade list includes Montreal Canadiens among others

Jun. 14, 2015: As the NHL Draft approaches, trade rumours surrounding Leafs' superstar winger Phil Kessel have reached new heights. Kessel has a limited no trade clause, which entitles him to name 8 teams he'd allow a trade to. He also comes with an $8 million cap hit. Is it a coincidence that his list of teams are all tight against the salary cap? Or is Kessel actively trying to prevent a trade from happening? FULL STORY

Babcock will be the 30th coach in team history and signs a record breaking contract. The mammoth contract will see him in Toronto for the next 8 years and be paid $50 Million US dollars for his services. Can Babcock and Shanahan turn the Leafs' around? Many consider this the best shot the Leafs have had in years to finally get it right. FULL STORY

The simple reason why I trust Brendan Shanahan
The simple reason why I trust Brendan Shanahan

May. 15, 2015: As the offseason progresses, Toronto fans are starting to get impatient with the lack of development in their front office. With still no GM hired, and a coaching hire unlikely until Mike Babcock makes his decision, Leaf fans are beginning to get restless. Some have even started to question Team President Brendan Shanahan. There is however, an element of Shanahans leadership that makes me confident he will hire the right GM. FULL STORY

Phil Kessel is not the Leafs
Phil Kessel is not the Leafs' problem on defence

Mar. 25, 2015: Phil Kessel has again found himself the centre of attention as he has the worst +/- stat in the NHL. Many are being critical of his defensive play, but is that the real problem? How much responsibility should Phil Kessel be taking for the teams defensive struggles? Does his plus/minus stat tell us the whole story? Do his linemates Tyler Bozak and JvR deserve some of the blame? FULL STORY

Leafs find a tolerable way to lose to the Senators

Mar. 22, 2015: Just after it was announced that the Leafs had signed NCAA standout Casey Bailey, they took on the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs would fall 5-3 to the Sens despite a push for a comeback from players like Leo Komarov. The Leafs' continue their race to the bottom as their top line of Kessel, Bozak and van Reimsdyk continue to be invisible on the ice. FULL STORY
