Wilkes-Barre Scranton - November 3, 2013 - The Hershey Bears were in town tonight to take on the WBS Penguins and you know that always means a good game with a lot of action. Hershey would get the first power play of tonight’s game as Ebbett would sit for a slash just over 2 minutes in but the WBS penalty kill would hold its own and keep it a scoreless game.

Both sides would trade off power plays testing each other’s penalty kills trying to find a small crack in the armor, Byers and Kostopoulos would do a little dance not much happening there but good to see Tommy mixing it up.

During one of the Penguins penalty kills Harry Zolnierczyk grabs Byers in what appeared to be a headlock taking him down to the ice drawing a roughing penalty that would prove to be not so good for the Penguins a 5 on 4 turn to a 5 on 3, and the Hershey Bears score on the 5 on 3 power play making it one to nothing Hershey.

Dominik Uher would get the Penguins on the board during a WBS power play as he was in the right place at the right time camping around the back post and putting home the puck making it one all late in the first period.

Second period action, both teams getting some good movement, Hershey capitalizing on what appeared to be a bad line change for the Penguins as Byer would snap one home making it 2-1 Bears. Bobby Farnham and Hershey’s Carrick get matching minors for a shoving match at the blue line creating some 4 x 4 hockey.

That’s about it for the second frame the Penguins looking for an even up goal with a late period power play but couldn’t find what they needed but on the up side had another 20 minutes of hockey to play.

WBS would get the goal they were looking for as Tom Kostopoulos rings it of the post and into the net behind Grubauer just over seven minutes into the third period right off the face off.

Byers would level Simon Despres with a flying shoulder causing some retaliation from the Penguins after all was said and done the Penguins ended up with a 3 minute power play but couldn’t get the magic happening. Third period ends all even at 2 heading for OT.

With just over half of the OT period gone Deslauriers come out of the net to play the puck in the trapezoid and gets run by Deschamps taking his helmet off but at the same time drawing an interference penalty, would this prove to be Hershey’s downfall? Brendan Mikkelson, would get the OT goal on the power play making it 3-2 Penguins and giving the WBS Penguins the OT win over the Hershey Bears
