Wilkes-Barre Scranton - November 18, 2013 - The Hershey Bears came to town tonight to take on the WBS Penguins at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, tonight was team photo night so if you came you got a team photo if you were one of the first 5,000 fans through the door but I noticed on the way out that there was a big stack of them for the taking and everyone was taking a few.

Things got off to a bad start for the Penguins tonight as the Hershey Bears scored just 1:55 into the game a shot from along the boards to the front of the net and a redirect from Whitmore put the Bears up by one. WBS would give Hershey the first power play of the night Bobby Farnham would get called for a cross check and put the Pens would make good use of it as Brian Gibbons would score a short handed goal making it one all.

Hershey would get some more power plays in the first even some 5 x 3 action but the Penguins would kill them all, WBS gets it’s share of power plays in the first as well even a 5 x 3 and Hershey makes good on their PK too. Drazenovic would get the Penguins second tally nearing the end of the first period giving the Pens a go ahead goal and looking for the period to end.

Brian Gibbons would put Hershey on the power play just 1:14 into the second period giving the Bears a chance to even things up but the PK holds again Pens giving up to many penalties tonight good thing the PK is well oiled. Deslauriers gets run by Brittain, Dumoulin takes offense and grabs Brittain for a dance they make a few pirouettes but that’s about the extent both sit for fighting. At the end of two the Penguins were still leading 2-1 over the Bears.

Jayson Megna took a shot in the foot just about 4 minutes into the third frame limped off the ice but stayed on the bench, Jayson returned to play a few shifts later didn’t look as if he had any residual effects. lots of action end to end this period the Bears looking to get something going and the Penguins looking to get a little more distance on the score board.

Jayson Megna would give the Pens what they were looking for a nice insurance goal putting his team ahead by two with just 1:17 to go in regulation. needless to say the Penguins held that lead and put the Bears into hibernation taking tonight’s game 3-1
