Wilkes-Barre Scranton - March 20, 2014 -

Spencer Machacek and Barry Goers from the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins took time this past St. Patrick’s Day to stop by the Danville Ronald McDonald House to assist in providing dinner to the guests.

The House provides a home-away-from-home for families of children being hospitalized or receiving outpatient care at area hospitals. It is a place of comfort and stability offering families the opportunity to relax and be together as a family unit during a time of great uncertainty.

Machacek, Goers and the Penguins organization teamed up with Grotto Pizza, who provided a variety of pizzas, to serve the families dinner that night.

Mike Turlis, Executive Director of the house, stated, “The families were quite impressed and touched that the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins along with Grotto Pizza sponsored the dinner for them. They thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience which provided them a break from the hospital.”
