Wilkes-Barre Scranton - November 1, 2014 -
The WBS Penguins took to the ice tonight at the Norfolk Scope looking to better their weekend and take one win off of this road trip, the Admirals had other ideas for WBS looking to better their home wins to 2 this weekend.
It was not a good night for WBS as Norfolk got on the boards first but it wasn't until late in the period and I mean really late 19:50 to be exact Brad Winchester would light the lamp for the Admirals on the power play making it one nothing just 10 seconds before the buzzer on an odd man rush just after the Pens missed a shorty chance. First intermission came and the Pens were looking at a one goal deficit not to mentions only having credit for one shot on net to Norfolk's eight.
Second period was no nicer to the Penguins who amounted 6 more shots on net than the first period but still could not find the right opening to get the puck behind LaBarbera. Both sides got chances on the power play but nothing in the way of an advantage for the Penguins who were still trailing the Admirals 1-0.
Norfolk would tally another goal later in the second frame giving the WBS Penguins a little deeper hole to climb out of; it would be Nic Kerdiles who would get the credit for the goal making it now a 2-0 lead over the WBS Penguins.
Third period was a little better for the WBS Penguins who would finally get on the boards, Conor Sheary would get the tally for the Pens; Tom
Kostopoulos would get the puck as the Admirals were trying to clear it and put it on net Sheary with the rebound effort made it count Penguins now trailing by one.
WBS would try but fell short as the Admirals would pull out the win Jason LaBarbera would come up big a few times keeping his team in the lead and securing the victory send the WBS Penguins back to Wilkes-Barre with only one point on the weekend and two losses in the books.
