Penguins Slip Past IceCaps

Wilkes-Barre Scranton - November 29, 2014 -

The WBS Penguins took on the St. John's IceCaps at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, tonight was license plate night at the arena.

A good first period a lot of end to end hockey a lot of good chances but nothing in the way of goals for the Penguins. It was nice to see Barry Goers back on the ice looking like he never missed a game.

After the first period was in the books everything was even at zero WBS Penguins pit shooting the IceCaps 6-5.

Second period was more of the first WBS Penguins getting some great chances but just could not find an opening to light the lamp.

By the end of the second you knew it was going to come down to who made the first mistake. Leaving for the second intermission it was still 0-0 SOG were WBS 17 STJ 14.

Jean Sebastien Dea would be the one to break the scoring lock smoking the puck past Connor Hellebuyck making it one to none WBS at 3:59 on the power play.

The IceCaps came at the Pens with everything they had looking for the even up goal but the WBS Penguins were up to the challenge keeping it a one goal game, Matt Murray doing his part as well with some nice saves.
