Wilkes-Barre Scranton - December 19, 2014 -

The Albany Devils made the trip in for a pre Christmas showdown with the WBS Penguins at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza tonight.

Not much to say about the first period Albany drew first blood on the power play they earned as D'Agostino cleared the puck over the glass drawing a delay of game penalty.

Most of the first period it seemed that the Penguins were having some trouble keeping the puck in the Albany end. All in all at the end of one it was Devils 1 the Penguins 0 SOG ALB 10 WBS 6.

Second period was not much better for the WBS Penguins still seeming to have problems keeping the puck in the Devils end. Albany would score again on the power play putting the Pens two goals deep in the ruts. WBS would get chances on the power play but would not be able to get anything out of it heading off for the second intermission trailing the Devils. PL3 and Carrier did a nice dance during the second frame as well I scored it for PL3, but it didn't seem to spark the Pens.

The third period was the best by far for the WBS Penguins scoring on the power play making it a 2-1 game just :36 into the third. WBS was looking like they found some energy and picked up the pace for a little while anyway after the goal.

The Devils would score later in the third on the power play as Tom Kostopoulos sat in the bin for a trip making it a 3-1 Albany lead. Just as the Devils goal was being announced Derrick Pouliot ripped one past Scott Clemmensen making it 3-2.

Albany would get the empty netter as WBS Penguins pulled Matt Murray looking to even up the score putting a bow on tonight's game, the final score Albany 4 WBS Penguins 2.
