In exchange, the Spitfires have sent a 3rd Round pick in 2017 and an 8th Round pick to Owen Sound. | | Windsor - August 21, 2013 - The Windsor Spitfires have acquired overage forward Steven Janes from the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for a pair of draft picks, General Manager Warren Rychel has announced.
In exchange, the Spitfires have sent a 3rd Round pick in 2017 and an 8th Round pick to Owen Sound.
“We're very glad to add a big, overage winger like Stephen with
experience in the league,” said Rychel.
He will have an immediate impact in our lineup.”
Janes, 20, is a 6'4, 205-pound left winger, originally selected in 2nd Round of the 2009 OHL Priority
Selection by the Ottawa 67s, 32nd overall. He spent parts of four years in Ottawa, before being dealt to
Owen Sound, along with defenceman Cody Ceci, last season.
In 196 career Ontario Hockey League games, Janes has put up 43 goals and added 43 assists, along
with 200 penalty minutes.
Janes will be at training camp
when it opens Monday morning at the WFCU Centre.
