Kennewick - August 26, 2013 - The Tri-City Americans have acquired 17-year-old forward Taylor Vickerman from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 2nd round pick in the 2015 Bantam Draft.

Vickerman, a 6’1 180-pound left wing from Kennewick, Washington, spent his rookie WHL season with the Giants last year, appearing in 52 games and compiling four goals, 9 points and 18 penalty minutes.

Originally a 6th round (112th overall) pick by Vancouver in the 2011 Bantam Draft, Vickerman played with the Cleveland Barons Minor Midget team in 2011-12, registering 13 goals and 28 assists in 61 games, before making his WHL debut on September 21, 2012.

Vickerman also participated in the USA Hockey Select U-17 Festival this summer and finished fourth overall in camp scoring after notching three goals and 8 points in 5 games. Vickerman was also rated #105 in the most-recent edition of Red Line’s Top Prospects report for the 2014 NHL Draft.

“Taylor is a player who will bring size and grit to our line-up,” explained Tory. “His addition addresses a need on our depth chart at the 1996-age group and creates a very competitive environment at our training camp, as we now have more forwards than roster spots available.”
