The Oshawa Generals have acquired Josh Sterk from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a conditional fourth round pick in the 2014 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection and a sixth round pick in 2015. Sterk was acquired by the Kitchener Rangers in the fifth round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection and now joins the Generals as a 5’11”, 175-pound centre with hopes of aiding on the Generals power-play while also contributing defensively.
Oshawa - September 18, 2013 - The Oshawa Generals have acquired Josh Sterk from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a conditional fourth round pick in the 2014 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection and a sixth round pick in 2015.

Jeff Twohey had this to say of Sterk, "Josh is a third year player in the OHL and will bring added experience, speed and offensive potential to our young team"
Suiting up for 51 games during the 2012/13 season with the Rangers, Sterk accumulated 6 goals, 16 assists and ended the year with a plus/minus rating of +10.
