Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Dubas announced today that the Program has traded goaltender Justin Nichols to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Plymouth’s 3rd Round Selection in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
Sault Ste. Marie - September 19, 2013 - Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Dubas announced today that the Program has traded goaltender Justin Nichols to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Plymouth’s 3rd Round Selection in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
Nichols, who wasoriginally drafted by the Hounds in the 3rd Round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection, was one of three netminders on the team’s roster.
The St. Catharine’s ON product is coming off his rookie season (2012-13) where he appeared in 24 games compiling a 10-7-1-1 record to go along with a 3.52 GAA and .892 SV%.
As a result of the transaction, the team’s goaltending duties will now be handled by the duo of veteran Matt Murray and 1st-year netminder Brandon Halverson.
The Hounds prepare to open the 2013-14 OHL regular season – tomorrow - Friday, September 20th when they visit the Sudbury Wolves. Game time is 7:30 p.m. from the Community Arena and all the action can be heard live on the team’s flagship station, Rock 101 (www.rock101.net) starting at 7:05 p.m.
