Peterborough - October 1, 2013 - Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced today that defenseman Clark Seymour was assigned to the Petes by the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier today. During the past month, Seymour, the Penguins 2012 fifth round draft pick, attended Penguins Main Camp as well as their AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins’ training camp this summer.

Seymour, originally drafted in the third round of the 2009 OHL priority selection by the Kingston Frontenacs, has played 227 career OHL games, scoring seven goals, 27 assists, and 274 PIMs. The over-ager will enter his fourth season wearing the maroon and white.

“We are excited about having Clark join our group,” said Oke. “He will bring a lot of leadership and experience back to our dressing room.”

“I am excited to get Clark back into the mix with our other defensemen,” said Petes Head Coach Jody Hull. “He brings a calming, veteran presence to the group. Clark will be relied upon heavily in penalty killing and defensive situations along with the rest of our strong defensive core.”
