London - March 22, 2014 - Gemel Smith had a goal and two assists and 11 different Knights hit the scoresheet, as London took Game One in a 6-1 win over the Spitfires on Friday night at the Budweiser Gardens.

Mike McCarron, Smith and Chris Tierney staked the home side to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Spitfires came out strong in the second period, registering eight shots in the first five minutes.

But goals by Bo Horvat and Owen MacDonald spoiled a stretch of 18 very good minutes with goals 50 seconds apart to give London all the offense it would need.

Ben Johnson had the only goal for Windsor, a shorthanded effort at 5:48 of the third period.

Josh Anderson wrapped the scoring, backhanding home a Chris Tierney feed past Alex Fotinos (31 saves) with a little more than three minutes to play. Anderson (1G, 1A) and Tierney (1G, 1A) joined Smith, Max Domi (2A) and Ryan Rupert (2A) with multi-point games.

Game Two goes Saturday night at the Budweiser Gardens. Gametime is 7:05.
