First Round Pick Stanley commits to Spits
Windsor Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel is pleased to announce that 2014 OHL Priority Selection first round pick Logan Stanley has signed a standard player agreement and education package with the club. Taken 12th overall, Stanley, a 6'6, 209-pound defenceman from Waterloo, Ontario plays a big man's game, but with a level of skill uncommon in players of his stature and age, says Rychel.

Windsor - May 10, 2014 - Windsor Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel is pleased to announce that 2014 OHL Priority Selection first round pick Logan Stanley has signed a standard player agreement and education package with the club.

Taken 12th overall, Stanley, a 6'6, 209-pound defenceman from Waterloo, Ontario plays a big man's game, but with a level of skill uncommon in players of his stature and age, says Rychel.

“Logan plays the game hard and with skill,” Rychel said. “He has big potential and we intend on helping him bring out the best in his game during his career in Windsor. We're extremely happy to add him to our organization.”

Stanley, set to turn 16 later this month, played 28 games last season with the Waterloo Wolves of the AHMMPL, averaging a point a game with eight goals and 20 assists, along with 95 penalty minutes.

In 9 playoff games, Stanley added five assists while chalking up 35 penalty minutes.

He is currently competing at the U16 OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener for Team Alliance and will be in Windsor Monday for an appearance at our annual Season Ticket Holder Exclusive Town Hall (7-8 pm).
