Spits select Norwegian, Soberg in import draft
With the 29th pick in the 2014 CHL Import Draft, the Windsor Spitfires selected Markus Soberg, of Oslo, Norway, from Vastras Frolunda of the Swedish J20 Super Elit league.

Windsor - July 4, 2014 - With the 29th pick in the 2014 CHL Import Draft, the Windsor Spitfires selected Markus Soberg, of Oslo, Norway, from Vastras Frolunda of the Swedish J20 Super Elit league.

In 45 games last season, Soberg scored 21 goals and added 17 assists, along with 40 penalty minutes. In four games at the World Junior Club Cup, Soberg scored three timesand added an assist for four points.

He also skated for Team Norway at the World Junior Hockey Championship, registering an assist in five games.

Soberg, 6'0, 187, is a 1995-born right winger that was taken by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 6th Round, with the 165th overall pick, in the 2013 NHL Draft.
