Denver - May. 16, 2020: The Colorado Avalanche are discussing the possibility of wearing Quebec Nordiques jerseys during certain games next season to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the team relocating. The Nordiques joined the NHL in 1979-80 in the merger with the World Hockey Association, along with the Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers and Hartford Whalers. Denver - Mar. 27, 2020: The Colorado Avalanche were advised today that a player has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The player has been at home in isolation since the first symptoms appeared, has recovered and is back to normal. The Avalanche have notified anyone who has had known close contact with the athlete. The forward was injured in a collision with Dallas Stars goalie Ben Bishop in the third period of a 4-0 loss on Thursday. San Jose - Mar. 2, 2015: San Jose Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Karl Stollery from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Freddie Hamilton.
Stollery, 27, has played in seven NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche, posting four penalty minutes.
